DEFENSE MINISTRY PRESS STATEMENT:
Over the past months, territorial disputes between Ioniopolis and Limington have begun over the Adriatic Sea between the two countries. The President of Ioniopolis, today deployed the Navy to what we are considering our border in order to protect our water rights for economic purposes. We intend to display to the Limington government where we intend to have influence over and what waters we shall be using.
We understand that the Limington Government considers us to be overstepping into their territory, but we will assert that this is not so and we have always claimed and influenced this territory.
This all comes on the back of several run ins Ioniopolian fishers have had with the Limington Navy.

(OOC: In the future, do not say that my government has done anything unless you speak with me first. My standing on any issues are my standing and you have no right to try and say what they are in your rps)
Limington only wishes to control what has always been our territory. Our Ally Vitosoprano may have shrunk allowing the nation of Ioniopolis to rise in it's place through most of Italy, but do not think we will allow you to push us out of the waters. Ioniopolis may have the 20 miles of sea lane in the Strait of Otranto, but that is all and if you are not satisfied with that, I will surely make it so you can't even control 10 miles.

(OOC: with all due respect, I didn't imply that your nation did anything absurd (ie. Invade my territory or any other). I implied something that would be any natural reaction for any other nation. But I respect what you have to say)
As far as I know, there is no international agreement that states how far our territory can extend. Our fishing industry needs this space. We are working in a free market enterprise and we need to be sure our fisherman can be safe to fish and generate money.

Limington has a large fishing area in the Aegean Sea, the Strait is of little consequence to us. Fishing boats will be permitted without Limington interfearance but possible inspections may be enforced. Any illegal activities happening on these fishing boats or anywhere else while using our sea lane will be considered a crime and there will be no release of the prisoners until they are tried and punished for their acts, whatever that punishment shall be.
