Description: three equal horizontal bands of red (top), white, and red; National seal symbol superimposed in the middle History and Meaning: According to legend, the flag was invented by Frederick the Quarrelsome, a famous Aragonian knight while he was involved one of the many inter-provincial skirmishes that plagued the Rudahnian peninsula in its early years. After one particular nasty battle known as the Battle of Noir, his white battledress was completely drenched in blood, but when he removed his belt the cloth underneath was untouched by it. So taken was he by this singular sight that he adopted the colors and scheme as his banner. In his later life, he championed the unification of the provincial kingdoms, and as such his banner became synonymous with Rudahnian nationalism. When the provinces were finally united, his banner became the flag, with the seal of the new country put in the middle.

Description:Three equal horizontal stripes, coloured (top to bottom) black, white and blue with the national emblem (the golden two headed eagle bearing the national coat of arms)superimposed. History: A.D. Toumbiot states - The Imperial Years:During the Eastern Empire Period (circa 330 AD to 1499), Toumpiots were part of the empire, having contributed notable dynasties to its line of rulers. The first Toumbiot dynasty of the Empire-the Polymerites (780-905 AD)-introduced the first long lived flag of the empire, which used the imperial emblem (the crowned two headed eagle) bearing the family's coat of arms, a blue cross on a white background with the imperial insignia "B.B.B.B." ("Âáóéëåýò ÂáóéëÝùí Âáóéëåýùí Âáóéëåõüíôùí", meaning "King of Kings Reigning over Rulers") on a three striped background, coloured blue-white-blue, to state the Greek origin and heritage of the dynasty (whose members came from the Halkidiki towns that constituted part of Alexander the Great's cavalry, using blue flags). The best known flag of the Empire, which flew for over 400 years on its castles and was destined to be its last up to the fall of Toumba to the Turks on 1499, is attributed to the Great Empress Despielle I (977-1065,reigned 995-1065).The coat of arms on the imperial eagle is coloured crimson and gold and the flag's stripes are coloured red-blue-red (red being Despielle's family colour, blue signifying her Greek origin). The immense impact the Empress had on all aspects of the empire's life, which included both scientific breakthroughs, major military and political victories, civil prosperity and golden times for arts (a time dubbed by historians "the Despiellian Era"),resulted in the adoptation of the aforementioned flag by her heirs as the Empire's permanent colours. Ottoman Occupation-Resistance and Rebellion During the Dark times of the Ottoman occupation, the Toumbiot resistance used plain all-black flags during the occasional raids and naval battles, black being the colour that not only signified loss but also depicted the deeply ancient warrior tradition of Toumba natives to use black as the "colour of War".A few years before the final uprising, the Rebel League of Toumba was created, which adopted a black flag bearing a white cross and a black bi-headed eagle with folded wings (to signify mourning) and the numbers 26-11-99 (the date of the last defining battle against the Turks on the fields of Navarino, that resulted in the fall of Toumba, the last imperial stronghold, and the beginning of the Dark Ages). Modern Times ToumbaThe current flag of the People's Republic of Toumba (see above) was adopted by unanimous vote during the Second National Assembly at Santo Fanouri on the third year of the Toumbiot Revolution. It mirrors the history of the state and its people from the time of the Empire onwards. The three horizontal stripes are coloured black (reminescent of both ancient Toumba, its myths and traditions and the resistance and revolutionary periods), white and blue (the Greek colours). The national emblem (superimposed on the stripes) is once again the two-headed eagle, but without the imperial crown (as a result of the abolition of monarchy and the embrace of democracy), bearing the Republic's coat of arms. Secondary flags and Colours Reminescent of the last flag of the Empire and in honour of the glorious time of the Great Empress,Despielle's flag has been retained as the Governor's Flag and Seal. When flying,it reveals the presence of the Head of State and it's also used as his/hers official seal. In honour of the Resistance and the Rebellion and as a sign of the fearsome warrior tradition of the Toumbiots, the Toumba's Black Cross, the flag of the revolution, was adopted by the country's armed forces as their official flag. The notorious Black Army (even though it has diminished in numbers during the last 50 years, mainly adopting Peace keeping missions) is proud to carry on a tradition that goes back to a time of myths and legends. State of FanariThis is the flag of the Independent State of Fanari, the sovereign city-state that consists of a walled enclave within the city of Constantinople, and houses the Throne of the Eastern Orthodox Church. The state of Fanari was created after the liberation of Constantinople (29-5-1923) as a non hereditary monarchy, headed by the Ecumenical Patriarch. Its flag is the Imperial TwoHeaded Eagle of the dynasty of Paleologi, traditionally used after the fall of the empire as the flag of the Eastern Orthodox Church, crowned by the Patriarch's Kallimauchion instead of the Imperial Crown.

DescriptionWhite cross over blue background; 4 historical symbols printed on the white cross portion. History and Meaning:Since the latest Faestos constitution was written during 1973, a revision of every single article to accommodate modern needs, a new flag had to be created as well, felt the people. After a national competition, a prominent artist of the land, Memnon Picasso was selected to create the flag. Basic colors of the flag are blue and white, symbolizing sea and sky. There is a cross in the flag, symbolizing Christianity(as people in their majority traditionally were Christians, either Catholic or Orthodox) and it is white cause their hearts are pure in their faith(even if it isn't Christianity). The bottom symbol is an animal of the sea, the dolphin, to outline the marine-based civilization. Double dolphins cause there is an tendency to excel in both marine commerce but also in battle. The Bullhead stands for the might of the Minoans, that excelled in the sea and made it one of its banners, and there is another one, to denote the importance of it to ancient Iberian populations, mostly the Basques who were closely related to Minoans(after all it survives in regional games to this day, similar to those thousands of years ago, the Bullfights). The Eagle is an important bird in the Iberian Peninsula and it symbolizes freedom of heart, spirit and mind. Moreover the two-headed Eagle is used to display the duality of the empire, part mariner and part settled down farmer/inventor/architect. Its shown here holding the symbols of military as well as cosmic power and furthermore marking the strength of the people during hardships eyeing those as well as the symbols of its power. Over it is the all illuminating sun; under it there is nothing that can be hidden and true enough this is the attitude of the people as well. It was used by the Alexandrine empire, a Faestian colony that rulled Asia for 1000 years. These four symbols also represent the strength of Faestian military as well: while they do not like to do wars, the people of Faestos do anything in their power to make sure they can win them if the need arises. The Dolphin represents Navy(land), the Bull represents infantry, the Eagle represents Airforce and the Star represents the newly created Starforce and its Starfleets.

(Faestos Edit reason: Monoroco seems to not be visiting this thread anylonger, so since they chose the flag I made for them I'm including it here as well) Description: 4 white horizontal stripes and 4 yellow horizontal stripes with a yellow cross in the upper left corner. History and Meaning: After the 8 year civil war fought between the Majority Greek/Irish Nobility and the oppressed Bohemian and Arabian minority, the General of the Bohemian Rhapsody forces placed his daughter, Saffron Ruzicka on the newly created throne, established on September 23rd, 1388. Saffron Ruzicka's name, translates to Little Yellow Rose. Since she was so wildly loved, the nation flag sprung from this. They colour yellow symbolizes the first true, benevolent Queen of Monoroco and her sunny and cheerful disposition. The colour white stands for her extreme innocence since she was only 16 when placed on the throne. She ruled until the age of 52 and even though she had 5 children, the people always viewed her as a cheerful, innocent young girl. The 8 horizontal stripes represent the 8 great wonders of Monoroco, which also symbolizes the 8 administrative districts that exist around these 8 great wonders. The Yellow Cross represents the extreme allegiance to the Christian Faith by the inhabitants of Monoroco.
