Post by Roma Hawaiiana on Aug 9, 2007 23:14:34 GMT -5
Country name: Formal name: The Holy Empire of Roma Hawaiiana Informal name: Roma Hawaiiana
Government type: Roma Hawaiiana's government is a combination Empire/Republic that is heavily influenced by the Catholic Church (although not enough to be considered a theocracy). The Senate, President, and Holy Emperor share power. The Senators and President are voted for by the people, while the Emperor is appointed by the Senate. One heir of the previous Holy Emperor must be on the ballot as a potential Holy Emperor or Empress when the Senate goes to vote (with there being no more than 4 canidates total). The President has the right to Veto the voted for Emperor, and if the revote is at least 3/4 majority, the veto is overuled. The Holy Emperor has the executive power, while the President represents the judicial branch.
Capital: Kailuidsium Located on Malta Administrative divisions: The Holy Empire of Roma Hawaiiana is divided into three jurisdictions. The first is Malta. The provincial capital is Kailuidsium. The second province is Numidia. The provincial capital is Cyrenacia. The third and newest division is the Holy Land. Its capital is Jerusalem. While the land area of the provinces varies greatly, the overall population of each are nearly the same, so budget is spread evenly.
Independence: The Holy Empire of Roma Hawaiiana was formed on March 8, 1591. For several hundred years, the people of Malta had been ravaged by famine and war. They opened their borders to Italian, Scottish, German, and Zulu immigrants in hope of regaining their lost population numbers. In 1900, a massive influx of Hawaiian refugees fleeing the U.S. takeover were admitted to the Empire, and more than doubled the population overnight.
National holiday: March 8, Imperious Maximus
Constitution: The constitution of Roma Hawaiiana was passed on May 1, 1696. It was a result of the Holy Emperor Don Quixote's rule. He seized the postion of Holy Emperor and greatly abused his power. After he was overthrown by popular rebellion, the current political system was established.
Legal system: Officially, the legal system is up to each province to decide. However, a uniform system is in place, with all innocent until proven guilty (except in the case of steroids in baseball).
Suffrage: Voting age is 18 if the person does not attend college and immediately join the military through the compulsary service program. If the person attends college, they are given four years to complete a degree(they may always return after their year of mandatory service is complete) with proof of attendence required. Upon entry into the service, they are given the right to vote. For all physically disabled and others in extenuating circumstances, the right to vote is at 19.
Executive branch: The Holy Emperor occupies this position.
Legislative branch: The Senate.
Judicial branch: While not an accurate description of the President's job, this best fits his position as keeping the Emperor in check. (Although the president is also part of a group of senators that participates in this task.)
Political parties and leaders: The political parties in Roma Hawaiiana include the Environmental Socialists (E.S.), the Republican Democratic Party (R.D.P.), and the Nationalist Activist Party (N.A.P.)
Political pressure groups and leaders: N/A
International organization participation: United Nations as a member of the Security Council
Flag description: A hand holding a Zulu war spear, with an Italian olive branch winding around it.
Ethnicity Hawaiian 20% Zulu 21% Italian 25% Scottish 20% German 14%
Religion Roman Catholicism is the official state religion, with 88% of the country being Catholic. The other 12% is a large Jewish minority.

Post by sierraofmonoroco on Jul 16, 2008 12:37:12 GMT -5
Country name: the Queendom of Monoroco
Government type: a Monarchy
Capital: Casablanca
Administrative divisions: 8 administrative Districts
Independence: September 23rd, 1388--the Greek family, the Kotopolouses ruled Monoroco for many generations starting in 50 BC. They were known to be very oppressive, especially to the Bohemian and Arabian minority, constantly using them as slaves and far worse. On the other hand, they were very nice to the then larger Irish minority, and the Greeks and Irish flourished under this time while the rest suffered. In the Autumn of 1380, a rebel force known as the Bohemian Rhapsody laid siege to the massive Kotopolouse palace at the then capitol, Marina (named after the King's favorite daughter), to put on the throne the general's favorite youngest daughter, Saffron. It was a long and bloody battle, lasting 8 years and wiping out just about 3/4s of the population. It was ended when the King and his family were forced into exile under a declaration to never return. Along with this, the then large Irish population moved with, to where, no one really knows. Saffron Ruzicka (meaning little yellow rose) , the General's youngest Daughter, was placed on the throne much to the people's delight and the capitol was moved to Casablanca, on the other side of the Island. The City of Marina was destroyed and renamed Venice; to this day, you can still see the ruins of the old palace. Because of the lovely Queen's name, the flag was made to be yellow. And ever since then, a Queen has ruled Monoroco.
National holiday: Queen's Day September 23rd, also known as Independence Day
Constitution: None
Legal system: There is a legal system where everyone is entitled to a fair trial. The Queen appoints well-deserving members of society to judicial jobs to work in the various cities; however, the Queen sits at the top of the chain of command and she has the final say on every case.
Suffrage: In each of the 8 administrative districts, the Queen has set up an adviser to make sure that everything is running smoothly when she can not be present. These advisers are elected by the public, however, if deemed necessary for the greater good, the Queen can remove anyone from office for a good cause, say threat to security. Anyone 16 and up can vote.
Executive branch: Queen
Legislative branch: The Queen has an advisory board made up by people she chooses and deems worthy of the position. They can propose laws to the Queen, however, can not enforce anything without her approval.
Judicial branch: There are a few small courts with Queen-appointed officials sitting in. There is one high court called The Supreme Court of Monoroco and that is headed by the Queen.
Political parties and leaders: none but the Queen ...a new heir determines who runs the kingdom and the heir can never be a man. Monoroco prides herself on her long history of Queenship and will promote this until the end of time. If the Queen is unsuccessful in producing a female heir, the Queenship will move to the next closest-of-kin female sibling and so on and so forth until an heir is found.
Political pressure groups and leaders: none
International organization participation: There is the Yellow Cross that gives aid whenever necessary to Monoroco's allies and other countries that are seen to need aid. The Country of Monoroco is very humanitarian based and will help anyone, even governments that are seen as awful, because the people are what counts. Whenever the Yellow Cross gives aid, its recipients receive it.
Flag description: The Flag of Monoroco has a white background with a brilliant yellow cross in the corner standing for its belief in Christianity, and 4 yellow and 4 white horizontal lines to stand for the 8 districts of Monoroco.
National Religion: The official religion of Monoroco is Christianity, however Religious Tolerance is widely prevalent and there are many mosques, synagogues, and temples throughout the country.
Ethnicity: 60% Greek, 23% Bohemian, 11% Arabian, 4% Other, and 2% Irish
